Ready, Set, Grow

Ready, Set, Grow

Ready, Set, Grow offers foundation year students an opportunity to gain a multidimensional perspective for generalist practice. Students will have the opportunity for dialogue with persons who are open to discussing their previous life adversities. Guest speakers may include military veterans, persons recovering from addictive disorders, survivors of sex-trafficking, etc.  Through these narratives, students will learn how attributes of the strength's perspective model (resiliency, self-efficacy, and empowerment) lends itself to generalist social work practice.  Conversation will focus on ethical principles of practice, the impact of trauma on vulnerable populations, and how the sociopolitical climate impacts services to these groups.

For: Full-time Students enrolled in Field Education I (SW 537) and II (SW 577) - Attendance is MANDATORY. Students will receive Field Education credit towards required course hours.
