The Center for Community Service Initiatives and the Center for Student Involvement invite Barry students, faculty and staff to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy by serving at one of the sites below during the MLK Day of Service on Saturday, Jan 19 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Barry University: College Readiness Day for local high school students and their families including Financial Aid 101, College Application Process, and a field day.
- Miami Dade Parks and Recreation: Crandon Park Revitalization, specifically working with dune restoration.
- Dr. MLK Jr. Elementary School: School revitalization, which will include planting, painting and trash clean-up.
- Miami Bridge Youth Center: Carnival Arts, which will include helping to create the pieces for the art exhibit in Miami International Airport.
Transportation, t-shirts, and food are provided. Locations are on a first-come, first-serveed basis so register today.
