Counseling doctoral students George Harrington, Catherine Valencia, Laura Meyer, and Nicole Berry received honorable mention (fourth place) at the American Counseling Association (ACA) 2012-2013 Graduate Ethics Competition.
The American Counseling Association (ACA) graduate student ethics competition allows counseling students across the country to respond to an ethical dilemma and demonstrate their ethical decision making, critical thinking, and scholarly writing skills. This national competition serves to educate members of ethical issues and to engage student members in critically analyzing potential ethical dilemma within the field.
Advisor, Dr. Lauren Shure, boasts about her students’ accomplishments, “I think it is a reflection upon the quality of our students, as well as the quality of education and training that students receive here, that this talented group of Barry students placed fourth in this national competition. They certainly make Barry University and our counseling department proud!”
