Grant Funded Programs

Barry University recognizes that true change, growth, and leadership come when our internal resources are leveraged for maximum impact. As a result, the University pursues various funding opportunities from federal, state, local government, and private corporations and foundations. More specifically, the Family CARE Center seeks grants that support the University’s mission to serve under resourced and underrepresented populations.

The Family CARE Center currently offers the following grant funded programs:

  • College Reach-Out Program (C.R.O.P.) - provides special support to low-income, underrepresented and educationally disadvantaged students in grades 6-12 in order to motivate and prepare them to attend college and complete their post-secondary education.
  • Success University Program - addresses the root causes of excessive absences for our elementary, middle and high school students, while providing support for families that are experiencing the negative influences of community stress factors.
  • Parent-Child Home Program - works with families who have not had access to educational and economic opportunities, preparing children (15 months-4 years) for academic success and strengthening families through intensive modeling behaviors.
