Dr. Alan Mason
Associate Professor of Music
Alan Mason is an Associate Professor of Music at Barry University. Alan Mason is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he was awarded the Doctor of Music Arts degree in 1993. Additionally, Dr. Mason was awarded the Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 1982, and the Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 1980. Dr. Mason’s primary area of training and work as a professional pianist is an accompanist to singers, instrumentalists and choral ensembles. In this capacity Dr. Mason has performed throughout the United States, in many parts of Europe, on television, radio, and on recording. Dr. Mason is recognized as an authority on Jewish music, and is sought out to perform and lecture on the topic at festivals and concerts throughout the country. Dr. Mason has been teaching music on the college level since 1982. He has been in his present position at Barry University since 1998.
