Mia Vassilev

Adjunct Professor

Pianist Mia Vassilev has concertized throughout the U.S., Mexico, China, Germany and Italy, and has been broadcast on the Classical Radio Network in Bulgaria. She received degrees from Kansas State University, the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music, and the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Dr. Vassilev recently completed a month-long engagement in New York as pianist for the Metropolitan Opera/Lincoln Center Commissions Program workshop and has performed works by many renowned contemporary composers such as Philip Glass, Anthony Davis, Richard Wargo, and Michael Torke under their direction and has worked for chamber festivals and opera companies domestically and internationally. Dr. Vassilev joined the piano faculty at Barry University in the fall of 2010.
