Biography
Angi Curreri
Angi Curreri was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Florida in 1972. She received her MFA in ceramics and drawing from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas in 1983 and her BFA in art from The University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida in 1980. During the summer of 1982, while in graduate school, she attended the University of Georgia's Study Abroad program in Cortona, Italy through the generosity of a Ford Foundation Grant and two University of Kansas fellowships: the Post Baccalaureate Affirmative Action Fellowship and the Summer Fellowship. Travel, dreams, memories and personal experiences inspire her work.
Curreri's clay works and drawings have been exhibited at museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and occasionally abroad. Her work is included in private and public collections in the United States as well as in Canada, Japan and Australia. Since 1994 she has also been actively involved in the public art arena in South Florida creating ceramic installations and tile murals for Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
