Emily Wertman

Hi, my name is Emily and I am a senior elementary education major at Barry. After I graduate I want to work with children who have autism and other developmental disabilities. I am also a member of Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society and serve on a committee for women in leadership. I have also been working at the Barry Phonathon, both as a caller and a supervisor for 3 years now. In my time here I have learned the importance of raising money for higher education, and I even give back to Barry myself each year. Barry has a really good education department and after my time here I will be able to compete for good teaching jobs in Florida or pursue a graduate degree. I am very thankful for those who give to the Annual Fund, because it is from those gifts that I received scholarships that enabled me to attend Barry. People always told me college was supposed to be the best years of your life, and they were absolutely correct!
