Adelaide Frey Memorial Scholarship
For seven years Adelaide Frey took on the task of being a student as
well as a full-time mother until she graduated from Barry University
in 1962 and went on to pursue a career teaching Latin and Spanish. It
was after her death in 1988 that the Frey family established a scholarship
in her name, which was designed to help those with limited means pursue
a college education. It was their mother’s determination to go
back to school at the age of 45 that inspired her children to create
an opportunity for others to do the same by establishing this scholarship.
Due to the Frey family’s continued support more than 25 students
from all walks of life have benefited from the Adelaide Frey scholarship.
