Albert W. Shellan Memorial Scholarship
(Nursing)
As a retired serviceman and lawyer, Albert (1907-1996) lived in Biscayne
Park, Florida on 116th Street. He retired as a Criminal Investigator
for the U.S. Treasury in 1965. Albert is remembered by neighbors and
friends as a marvelous caring gentleman who always had candy and a pleasant
greeting to share. He spent much of his free time using the Barry University
Library and taking classes to satisfy his interest in continuous learning.
A few years before his death, he gave his house to Barry University
but continued to live there until he became disabled. His bequest stated
that his scholarship and the selection of recipients shall be determined
by the Director of Financial Aid Services or by the Dean of the School
of Nursing for Nursing Scholarships. Support this scholarship.
