Evelyn and Phil Spitalny Scholarship
(School of Arts and Sciences)
Derna Ford, a music professor at Barry University lived with
Evelyn Spitalny for several years. In her will, Evelyn expressed
her gratitude to Derna by awarding $50,000 to be used for
music scholarships. In her will, Evelyn expressed hope that the
awards would be a catalyst for other donors to have the sound
of music ring out, loud, clear and beautifully, at Barry University.
Phil Spitalny was the conductor of an all girl orchestra and Evelyn
played the violin. Support this
scholarship.
