Goizueta Minority Science Scholarship
To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity
in funding the Goizueta Minority Science Scholarship and contributing
to my education at Barry University. I am extremely honored to be the
recipient of the award for the year 2004-2005.
Currently I am in my sophomore year at Barry University, majoring in
Biology/Pre-med. The classes I have enjoyed most are Biology, chemistry,
and zoology. When I graduate I hope to get into an excellent medical
school that prepares me to become a Dermatologist, which I have dreamed
of becoming for a long time. Now, with the help of this scholarship
and my faith in God, I know that these dreams can and will be fulfilled.
I was born and raised in the southern part of the island of Puerto
Rico, in the city of Ponce. My family is relatively small, just my parents
and an older sister. My sister is an actress and lives in Los Angeles,
California. My father is a Pediatrician and my mother is a house wife.
They have worked hard to make sure that my sister and I never wanted
anything and could attend college.
I greatly appreciate the recognition and support the Goizueta Minority
Science Scholarship. Receiving this scholarship motivates me to maintain
my GPA and complete my degree. I look forward to being able o give back
to the community once I begin my career as a doctor. My family and I
thank you for your confidence and willingness to help me achieve my
goals.
Sincerely,
Alina M. Segura
