Grants
Grant funding is important in supporting and fulfilling Barry's mission and vision. Sponsored scientific research, new construction and renovation, service projects and outreach programs, as well as collaborative initiatives are often funded by grant awards. Grants typically involve contractual relationships, reporting requirements and other regulatory stipulations. Funding sources include government agencies, private foundations, non-profit organizations and professional associations.
Facilitating and supporting the acquisition of grants is the primary purpose of the Office of Grant Programs and Governmental Relations. The Grants Office activities include:
- Grant Writing: Developing grant proposals for selected high priority programs, projects and other activities with an emphasis on those which are university-wide and collaborative in scope.
- Technical Assistance : Assisting grant proposal development by providing training, editorial assistance and other services for department and school-based projects.
- Research: Researching potential grantors and funding opportunities for selected high-priority projects throughout the university.
- Coordination: Coordinating and monitoring the development, review and approval of all grant proposals on a university-wide basis.
- Dissemination: Serving as a clearinghouse for a wide variety of grant-related information, including funding opportunities, resources, etc.
