Teleconferencing Training

On March 21 and 22, and May 30, 2001, MARC U*STAR faculty and students received additional hands-on training on the advanced use of the videoconferencing facilities in the Minority Program's Resource Room. Faculty and students were trained on NetMeeting as well as the PictureTel TeamStation.

The training sessions included: Logging on to Barry University's ils directory server; Sharing and transferring files both locally and off-site between users in videoconference sessions; Configuring netmeeting for secure incoming and outgoing calls.

Recently, faculty utilized this technology to videoconference with the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Washington, DC, and other universities throughout the United States to discuss their FastLane system.
