Faculty Accomplishments

Dr. Peter Lin (Biology) and his MBRS RISE student, Gesulla Toussaint, received a travel award to attend The Endocrine Society Annual Meeting (ENDO 2003) in Philadelphia, PA. June 18-22, 2003. Dr. Lin also received the Sister Jeanne O’Laughlin Scholar’s award in recognition of exceptional scholarly performance, May 2003.

Drs. Laura Mudd (Biology), Peter Lin (Biology) and George Fisher (Chemistry) received the 4 year renewal NIH support MBRS SCORE grant. Dr. Fisher also received the Faculty of the Year award for accomplishments in outstanding teaching, student mentoring, research/scholarship, and university/community service.

Dr. Allen Sanborn completed his second NIH RISE support molecular taxonomy internship at the University of Arizona, AZ, Summer 2003. He is currently on sabbatical continuing this research there.

School of Natural and Health Sciences received the 5 year renewal of the MARC U*STAR grant.

Dr. Gerhild Packert (Biology) participated in the Genetics Interdisciplinary Faculty Training (GIFT) program at Duke University, June 2003. Dr. Packert also participated in the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Grant Writing Workshop, July 2003.
