- Fall 2007 Our students have also received awards for their academic and research performances. Andreina Aguado (MARC), Lina Arencibia (MARC/RISE), Christophe Arteaga (RISE) and Yanierys Cruz (RISE) Maria Pineda (MARC/RISE) were inducted into Gamma Sigma Epsilon (Chemistry Honor Society) on January 26, 2007. Ileana Pazos (MARC/RISE) was featured in December 11, 2006 issue of Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN, http://pubs.acs.org/cen/acsnews/84/8450news.1html for her contribution to “Mall Science”. Maria Pineda (MARC/RISE) and Carolina Pombo-Martinez (MARC/RISE) received travel awards to attend the 7th Annual Berkeley Edge Conference, Berkeley, CA, October 12-15, 2006. Carolina Pombo-Martinez (MARC/RISE) and Tina Franklin (RISE) received excellent ratings on their posters at Sigma Xi Student Research Conference, Detroit, MI, November 2-5, 2006. Hans Saint-Eloi Cadely (MARC) received the outstanding Undergraduate Student award for his presentation at the 71ST meeting of the Florida Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, FL. Anladys Carreras (MARC), Andreina Aguado (MARC) and Yaneirys Cruz (RISE) received third place for their poster presented at the 83rd Annual Florida Meeting and Exposition, Orlando, FL, May 9-11, 2007. This research has been accepted for publication.
