Graduate Updates

Andreina Aguado (MARC 2007) is enrolled in the Ph.D. Chemistry program at the University of Miami, FL, Fall 2007.  She received a training fellowship award.

Emilia Baron (MARC 2007) is enrolled in the Ph.D. Human Development & Family Studies program at Texas Tech University, TX, Fall 2007.  She received the AT&T Chancellor’s Fellowship, Mary Staudt Goodyear Memorial Scholarship.

Lorra Hyland (MARC 2007) is enrolled in the Ph.D. IGP program at the University of Alabama, AL, Fall 2007.  She received a training fellowship/training assistant award.

Maria Pineda (MARC/RISE 2007) is enrolled in the PhD Inter Biology program at the Watson School of Biological Sciences, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY, Fall 2007.  She received a graduate research fellowship award.

Tina Franklin (RISE 2007) is enrolled in the Ph.D. Biology program at Rutgers University, NJ, Fall 2007.  She received a graduate fellowship award.

Davecia Ragoonath Cameron (MARC/MIRT 2002) Davecia was wed to Matthew Cameron on Feb 25th, 2007, in Trinidad. She is currently an editor at the Institute for Medical Education and Research, a leading provider of continuing education for physicians, nurses, and other health professionals who specialize in oncology. 

Gonzalo Revuelta, DO (Bridges 2000) is in the last year of the Neurology Residency at Drexel University College of Medicine; he has accepted a position in Movement Disorders at Emory University School of Medicine for next year.  He and his wife are expecting a baby next month.

Giavonni Lewis (MBRS 1999) is in her 3rd year of General Surgery Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL.

Mabel Lopez (MARC 1996) has just accepted a position directing psychological services at Lee Memorial Older Adult Services at Lee Memorial Healthcare Systems, Ft. Myers, FL. This is one of only 15 certified Memory Disorders Clinic in the state of Florida.  She will be supervising psychologists and psychometricians in addition to developing the program. She will also be involved in research and clinical work.

Norma Lorenzo-Ramos (MARC/MIRT 1998) is working at an immigration law firm in Hartford, CT.

Ayana Cannon (MIRT 2002) has started her preliminary year of residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Efrain Garcia (MARC 2000) is a Post doctoral Research Fellow, Vanderbilt Institute for Imaging Science, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.

 Dalivan Melendrez (MARC 2000) is completing the Ph.D. in Neuropsychology at Roosevelt University, IL, and is tenured at Harold Washington College, IL.

Sona Ramdath (MIRT 2000) has completed the DPM at Barry University.  He is now in a residency program at Miami’s Veterans Hospital, Miami, FL. 

Frantz Moise, (MARC 2006) has been accepted into the PhD Clinical Health Psychology Behavioral Medicine Program at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, CA.

Poincyane Assis-Nascimento (MARC/RISE 2006) gave birth to a handsome, healthy baby boy! Matheus, 7 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long.  Poincyane is a 2nd year Ph.D. Neuroscience student at the University of Miami.
