Funding Opportunities for Faculty

Dr. Derrick Tabor, MBRS Program Director, NIH, was introduced by Dr. Lou DeFelice, Bridges Program Director, Vanderbilt University. Dr. Tabor discussed the sources of funding available for faculty to conduct research at their home institutions or at state-of-the-art research institutes. He informed faculty of the types of awards, their operations, and how to source information on grants. Dr. Tabor encouraged collaborative research between institutions.

Later that day, Dr. Tabor made a presentation to the South Florida Section of the American Chemical Society at Florida International University entitled, “Career Development of Biomedical Research Scientists- Role of Fellowships and Grants.”
