Ways You Can help

Volunteer Opportunities:
There are now opportunities for community members who wish to take a more hands-on role in assistance.
* On-campus - we need assistance in packing up and loading donations for shipment to Haiti. Those interested will meet every Friday between 1 to 4 p.m. in the Cor Jesu Chapel.
* In the community - Notre Dame d'Haiti, the local diocesan mission for Haiti, needs help packing and loading donations. Volunteers gather daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.. (Please call Gerard Pean at 786.507.7719 before arriving). The mission is also receiving donations of dried rice, beans and canned protein, with tabs which do not need a can opener, and first aid kits. The mission is located at 110 N.E. 62nd St., Miami.
Pray
As always, our first response is to pray together as a community. Each Friday through February 19, 2010, a prayer vigil will be held for the people of Haiti; details will be posted soon.
Accompany
Be mindful of our students, faculty and staff who have family members and loved ones in Haiti, many of whom have died and are still missing. We will gather frequently in the coming weeks to support, console and strengthen one another in a spirit of solidarity. Student Activities along with Haitian Inter-Cultural Association (HICA), will be coordinating these events.
Donate – Now through Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2010
