Lauren Schwal, MSN, RN-BC
Lauren Schwal is prepared as a clinical nurse specialist in high risk maternal/child nursing and has her MSN and BSN from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, Downstate Medical Center. She is currently completing a graduate certificate in nursing education. She maintains certification as a professional staff development nurse and plans to pursue her CNE.
Her passion and specialty practice is pediatrics. She is the course coordinator for pediatrics and has introduced pediatric simulation into the pediatrics and role transition courses at Barry. Lauren is also collaborating with other researchers in the area of nurses’ and nursing students’ willingness to receive the influenza vaccination.
In addition to pediatrics, Lauren’s love is teaching and mentoring students. She is an active student advisor and faculty consultant for the Nursing Student Association at Barry.
