Dr. Yi Lu
Dr. Lu joined the faculty in the College of Health Sciences in 2012 after earning his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. His research involves the applications of econometric methods on subjects in economics, law, and industrial organization. His current work addresses: (1) the effects of medical malpractice liability on treatment intensity, patient health outcomes and its welfare implications; and (2) the nature and effects of healthcare provider competition under the influence of quality information availability, medical malpractice liability and managed care.
Dr. Lu is a member of the American Economic Association (AEA), American Public Health Association (APHA), International Health Economics Association (iHEA), American Society of Health Economists (ASHE), and Southern Economics Association and Eastern Economics Association.
