Mary Colvin, PhD, associate professor of nursing, was recently appointed as the director of the undergraduate nursing for Barry University’s College of Health Sciences. Colvin began serving in this capacity effective May 5 and replaced Karen Miles,EdD, who left the position to assume the role of outcomes assessment coordinator for the College of Health Sciences.
In her new position, Colvin will oversee the operations of the Pre-Nursing program, the traditional BSN program, the Accelerated Option program, and the RN to BSN program. Colvin holds a BSN from Georgetown University, an MSN from the University of Edinboro, and a PhD from Barry. She has been serving as the undergraduate curriculum coordinator for the program, and was honored as one of the Great 100 Nurses at the Centennial Celebration of the Florida Nurses Association.
Colvin will be assisted by Clare Owen, RN, MSN, who will serve as the assistant program director of the Undergraduate Nursing program.
