How to Apply
To apply to the HEP program you must do the following:
1.
You must meet with the HEP
Recruiter/Counselor. Please call to make an appointment at (305) 242-7103 or email Michael Hill at mhill@mail.barry.edu.
2.
You must take the Test of Basic
Education (TABE)* or the SABE (the Spanish version of the TABE) in order to
determine if you qualify for GED classes.
If you do qualify for
GED classes:
1.
You must complete HEP application.
2.
You must provide documentation
that confirms your eligibility. You can provide HEP with any of the
following:
- Pay
stubs from employment
- W-2
forms or tax forms
- Letter
from employer verifying employment.
- Certificate
of Eligibility (COE)
- Letter
from another HEP program
If you do
not qualify for the GED classes:
You will be referred to Adult
Basic Education Classes (ABE). ABE classes are designed to strengthen your
academic skills. Once this occurs you can retake the TABE examination. * The TABE exam test individuals on their
knowledge of reading comprehension, language and math. |
