Courses are intended to help develop insights into past human and history-making experiences for students who have broad interests and backgrounds. You will develop keen written and verbal skills, learn to think critically and evaluate important evidence. Majors will also have the opportunity to pursue independent study on topics of interest, and internships in various approved agencies and organizations.
Every class at Barry is taught by an experienced professor, not a teaching assistant. You will find the one-on-one attention to be an invaluable component to your Barry education, which is demonstrated every day through our student to faculty ratio.
Majoring in history, political science, pre-law or international studies will also build confidence in your oral and written skills through a broad-based liberal arts program. These skills and aptitudes are vital to all graduates regardless of career choice, and will serve to build a solid foundation in adapting to change in today’s world.
