Sport Management (BS)

Your Sport Management internship experience will serve to integrate the theoretical, applied, and practical principles you have learned during your undergraduate experience. You will work closely with your advisor in planning an internship that best meets your career goals.

Sport Management majors at Barry have worked at nationally televised sporting events such as the PGA Doral-Ryder Open, The Ericsson Tennis Tournament, the Federal Express Orange Bowl, and, occasionally, a Super Bowl. Sport Management majors have interned with the Florida Marlins, the Panthers, and at Walt Disney World, among others.

Sport Management Club 
In addition to the formal internship that takes place as you complete your degree requirements, numerous opportunities for pre-internship experiences abound in the South Florida market. You'll be able to acquire practical experience in your classes, in the local community, or through membership in our newly formed sport management club. As a club mentor, you'll organize events, promote fund-raising activities, and seek additional experiences that will further enhance your marketability upon graduation from Barry University. This year, we are managing a concession booth at the PGA's Honda Golf Classic in Coral Springs, Florida. Proceeds support conference attendance by students, help fund guest speaker invitations, and make possible other activities that benefit Barry's sport management students.
