This BS degree program will prepare you to seek positions in corporations, hospitals, and fitness centers as you pursue certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health/Fitness Instructor.
Emerging careers in fitness, wellness , and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation have increased the need for professionals with expertise in the field of exercise science. Our degree program in exercise science prepares you for a broad array of career opportunities in fitness and wellness programming, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. With a degree in exercise science, you will be able to work in various settings including corporations, hospitals, and fitness centers. |

Do you want to help a first-grader develop motor coordination, improve the fitness level of a middle-schooler, or coach a high school basketball team to victory? Then a major in physical education is for you!
Our major in physical education prepares you to participate in the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE). Two options are available in the program: one leading to K-8 state certification and one leading to state teaching certification for grades 6-12. Additional coursework can prepare you for the opportunity to seek dual certification, as well as a state teaching endorsement in coaching. Extensive practical laboratory and field experiences available at Barry provide an added advantage for you to be educationally well-prepared for today and tomorrow. |
