May 2010: SMDI Majors Embark on Internships Around the World

Between the months of May and July, four SMDI majors embarked on internship opportunities around the world. Through extensive collaboration between SMDI faculty and the internship sites themselves, each site was hand-picked in order to fit the individual student's interests, talents and strengths. Brian Kelley took off to Tufi Dive Resort in Palau to concentrate on resort operations and photography, David Bone led dives and instructed at Pacific Divers in the Cook Islands, Maddison Connell led dives on the famous wrecks of Truk Lagoon for the Dive Stop and Megan Arnold is heading up an extension of Kid's Sea Camp at Sam's Tours Palau. All interns have established incredible working relationships with the areas they are interning and have paved the way for future SMDI interns to follow in their footsteps.
