SMDI Student-Major Featured in Industry Video Set for Worldwide Distribution

Because Barry University is well known in the dive industry for its Sport Management-Diving Industry program, a major organization has just featured one of Barry's SMDI student-majors in a video that is to be distributed worldwide. Stefanie Prstac can be seen in the video speaking about her lifelong love for the water which is the reason she transferred to Barry. Now every student who views this important video will learn of the SMDI Program as Stefanie encourages new divers to join the free student insurance program that was provided to her as a Barry diver.

Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a non-profit organization that provides emergency medical assistance and insurance to divers worldwide. DAN offers a free Student Membership Program for all new divers who are in the process of receiving their certification. The "DAN is my buddy" program offers dive students recompression insurance for aquatic-related accidents, plus other international travel-assist medical benefits. In the end credits, DAN gives a special thank you to Stefanie and to professor Sharon Kegeles, director of the dive program who has been an active member of DAN since 1986.
