About the Program

Barry University's Exercise Physiology bachelor's program requires a total of 120 credit-hours. The 21 credit-hour Sport and Exercise Physiology core will give you a general foundation. An additional 39 credit-hours are required which are specific to your Exercise Physiology major. You must achieve a minimum grade of C in all major, SES core, and co-requisite courses.

Prior to graduation, you must sit for at least one of the following certification exams:

ACSM Certification

If you are interested in working with the general population, you will be guided toward the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification examination. Certification options include the ACSM Health/Fitness Specialist Certification and the Exercise Specialist Certification.

NSCA Certification

If you are interested in working with the athletic population, you will be guided toward the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification exam offered by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
