Edward Londono

Mr. Londono is the director of Campus Recreation and Wellness. He was hired in July of 1995 after having worked as the recreation director at Florida International University. Londono has worked in the field of recreation since 1991, and has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (FIU 1990) and a master's degree in Sport Management-Physical Education (FIU 1995). Londono is also a:

  • Member of National Intramural and Recreational Sport Association (NIRSA) since 1992
  • Member of the National Wellness Association (NWA) since 1999.
  • Committee member of the Wellness Initiative Network (WIN) since 1998.
  • Member of the South Florida Recreation Association (SFRA); served as president from 2001-2004
  • Certified official for softball, basketball, and flag football.
  • Certified Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Basic Instructor for women since 2000, radKids instructor since 2004, Advanced Instructor for women since 2008, and RAD of Men Instructor since 2010
  • On the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) Advisory task Force.
Dan Hill

Mr. Hill holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Barry University (1995) and a Master of Science in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University (2001). Previous work experience includes the NFL, AFL, Division 1 & IAA College, private health clubs, hospitals, sports medicine clinics, High School, and Middle School. Hill is also a retired Staff Sgt. of 8 years with the U.S. Army Military Police Division. His certifications include:

Andy graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management-Golf Industry from Barry University (2007). Andy also obtained his Masters degree is Sport Management in 2008. He has worked many years in the golf industry and is experienced in teaching youth sports such as flag football, golf, basketball, and baseball. Along with serving as Assistant Director for the BUCkids Camp Andy is also the interim Director for the Fun, Fit, Friday’ s program at Barry. A program that helps at risk youths develop social and life skills. Andy also is:

Ms. Mapp received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (2007). She received her Master’s Degree in Sport Management from Barry University (2010). Her experience includes 10 years of swimming instruction, 6 years of personal training, group fitness classes, and fitness center supervision. Ms. Mapp serves as the chair of the Wellness Initiative Network (WIN). Ms. Mapp currently holds certifications in the following:

Tonya is originally from Morganton, NC and graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a BS in Exercise Sports Science.  Tonya is currently pursuing her Masters in Sports Injury Biomechanics at Barry University.  Her certifications include AFAA Personal Training Certification, Licensed Massage Therapy and National Safety Council First Aid and CPR/AED.  She has worked in the past as a personal trainer specializing in weight loss, sports conditioning and training Paralympic athletes.  Tonya's activities include training, cycling and Scuba Diving.

Adam is originally from Utica, NY and graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a BS in Music Industry and Business Communications. Adam will be continuing his education here at Barry with intentions in receiving a Masters of Science in Sports Management and Business Administration. Adam has been certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid and CPR/AED, and also by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in Personal Training. Adam is familiar with the ideologies/practices of nutrition, exercise science and bodybuilding.

Stephanie is originally from Coatesville, PA. She graduated from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Business Management where she was also a dual athlete in Soccer and Track & Field. Stephanie is currently pursuing her Master’s in Sport Management at Barry University. With her background as an athlete, Stephanie is accustomed to the practices of staying fit, maintaining balance, and the importance of overall wellness.

Wes is originally from Houston, Texas and completed his undergraduate studies at Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology. At Barry University he is currently working a Master’s degree in Sports Management. As a student athlete at Florida Atlantic University, Wes was a member of the Men’s Basketball team. An avid fitness enthusiast, Wes considers exercise and fitness as a large part of his daily life. Additionally, Wes enjoys music, yoga, basketball, and fishing.

Max is originally from Sarasota, Florida and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BS in Psychology. Max is currently pursuing his Master’s in Movement Sciences with specializations in sport, exercise, and performance psychology. Max has coached basketball for youth, middle school and high school programs. Max has a passion for sports, team atmospheres, creating cohesive environments, instilling motivation in those around him, and counseling. Max’s activities include playing basketball, football, and coaching.

Genessys, originally born in Caracas, Venezuela, but raised in Miami, graduated from Barry University with a BS in Exercise Science. Genessys is currently pursuing her Master’s in Movement Science with specialization in Exercise Physiology at Barry University. She has worked in the past as a Fitness Instructor specialized in a variety of dance formats such as hip-hop, reggae, jazz, ballet, Latin and modern. Genessys manages her own wellness center and provides her services to different non-profit organization in the goal to help educate and enhance families' quality of life through exercise and nutrition. Genessys' activities include dance, biking, running, and swimming at the beach.
