The Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness
Campus Recreation & Wellness (CRW) invites all current faculty, staff, and students to utilize our Fitness Center in the Landon Student Union. A current Barry identification card must be shown prior to entering the facility. All participants are also required to abide by the rules and regulations that govern the use of the facility. Appropriate work-out clothing is required to be worn in the fitness center at all times.

Drop-In Concept:
Members of the Barry Community can now participate in the following activities that meet the needs of the physical dimension of wellness. These classes are designed to optimize cardiovascular conditioning, muscular development, and endurance building while maintaining a safe learning environment. Classes are free of charge, but limited to class capacity.
General Information:
- Classes marked with an “*” are ISR offerings. Priority is given to enrolled students first.
- Classes taught by a certified instructor.
- ID needed for computer check-in.
- Instructors and/or classes times are subject to change.
- No one is permitted to enter any class after the warm-up.
- Minimum of three (3) participants per class.
- Please bring a towel.
- Participants must adhere to all policies and procedures that are specific to the activity and the facility.

Class Descriptions:
Aerobic Exercise/Step Aerobics – High and low impact movement using various styles such as step.
Body Sculpting - Focuses on toning the musculature and definition of the body.
Boot Camp- A fast-paced military approach with interval training, and an assortment of plymetric floor exercises.
Capoeira- Fluid blend of dance, martial arts and acrobatics. A great way to have fun and get in shape !
Cardio Challenge - Incorporates step aerobics, kick boxing, & circuit training methods to challenge all fitness levels.
Circuit Workout - Learn how to use the machines in the fitness center for a great toning and cardio workout!
Gentle Yoga- Learn basic positions and mediation techniques for beginners.
Indoor Soccer - Open recreational time dedicated to faculty and staff for playing soccer in an indoor setting with reduced goals.
Kick Boxing - Fast paced, high intensity workout. Mimics actual training methods.
Noon Ball - Open recreational time dedicated to faculty and staff for playing basketball.
Pilates - exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk.
Power Walking- For beginners to advanced walkers, this exercise provides a dynamic and low-impact aerobic workout.
Speedmitton- The game is outwardly similar to badminton, but the shuttlecock is heavier, and the game tempo is faster.
Strength Training - Get acquainted with our state-of-the-art fitness center. Orientation made by calling 305-899-4016.
Table Tennis - Open recreational time dedicated to faculty, staff, and students for playing a great hand-eye coordination game of table tennis.
Tai Chi - Rhythmic movements and meditative discipline defines this ancient Chinese art.
Yoga - Relaxation and stress relief exercises. A total mind and body conditioner.
Zumba - High energy Latin music aerobics with unique moves and combinations that allow zumba participants to dance away their worries.
