  • Courses offered through both the School of Human Performance and Leisure Sciences and the Andreas School of Business broaden the depth of your academic preparation.
  • Elective credits available through the College of Arts & Sciences (e.g., journalism, communications, psychology) can enhance your professional preparation for sport-related careers in these fields.
  • Your degree preparation includes case study analysis emphasizing the practice and promotion of ethics and human values in the management of sport-related businesses, athletics, and fitness programs.
  • Our ideal South Florida location gives you access to multinational businesses, a vibrant leisure/tourism industry, several professional teams, and nationally televised sporting events such as the PGA Doral-Ryder Open, the Lipton tennis Tournament, and the Federal Express Orange Bowl.

Career Options

The Master of Science (MS) Degree in Sport Management combines both theory and practice to prepare you for opportunities in management in a variety of sport, recreation, and health promotion areas (e.g., arena and dome management; amateur and professional sports; high school and college athletics; resort and tourism industries; parks and recreational centers; fitness and wellness centers; etc.).

The Program

The Sport Management graduate curriculum includes coursework offered within the Andreas School of Business. You can choose from two degree options: the MS in Sport Management or the dual degree option leading to master's degrees in both Sport Management and Business Administration (MS/MBA). The MS and the MS/MBA degrees include at least eight industry-specific courses in the Sport and Exercise Sciences Department and two to nine courses in the Andreas School of Business. Both of the master's degree programs in Sport Management include the opportunity to select coursework best suited to your individual interests.
