Juvenile Life Without Parole Project (JLWOP)
The Juvenile Life Without Parole Defense Resource Center was developed in September 2010 with generous support from the Florida Bar Foundation to assist lawyers across the state with representation of clients serving juvenile life without parole in Florida in accordance with the United States Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Graham v. Florida. The historic opinion mandates that states provide a meaningful opportunity for review and possible release for youth incarcerated for life. The Center is available to assist lawyers, family members, and advocates working to end juvenile life without parole for juveniles in Florida and create a developmentally appropriate system for the treatment of youth accused of crimes.
