International Applicants
Foreign transfer students complete the same electronic application as new students via the LSAC website (www.lsac.org). A foreign applicant may be admitted to the School of Law as a first year student if the basic admissions criteria are met including the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), undergraduate GPA, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
Once a foreign transfer student has applied to take the LSAT, he will be prompted to register with the LSAC Credential Assembly Service. This neutral evaluation will allow the admissions committee to determine if the previous foreign law school education is considered graduate level as opposed to undergraduate level. See this link: http://www.lsac.org/Applying/lsdas-general-information.asp. The level of the previous coursework will determine the ability to transfer credits, as officially determined by the Academic Dean and the Registrar.
Upon admission, all law students are required to complete the required curriculum at the School of Law. Transfer credit may be allowed for studies at a law school outside the United States in accordance with the ABA Standard 308, but such credit may not be substituted for the mandatory required courses.
