Services for Alumni

The Career Services Office (CSO) provides resources and services to graduates applying for specific jobs and those considering a lateral move or change in career field. In addition, the CSO provides an important link between alumni and students.

Individual Career Counseling

Alumni seeking career counseling can contact Cinnamon Baker, Director of Career Services. We will schedule appointments on campus for local alumni or meet by telephone with those outside the Central Florida area. In addition, the CSO staff provides assistance on resume and cover letter writing.

CSM-Symplicity—Our online jobs and career resource database

Barry Law alumni have access to job postings and other career resources on CSM-Symplicity, the CSO online database. Go to: https://law-barrylaw-csm.symplicity.com/students/. Graduates can obtain a username and password from Diane Kent at 321-206-5653 or at dkent@mail.barry.edu<mailto:dkent@mail.barry.edu.

Reciprocity Policy

Reciprocity is a courtesy arrangement among law schools that allows students and graduates use of Career Services offices of law schools located in other cities. Each school has its own requirements. Reciprocity requests must be made through the CSO. If you would like to use another law school’s career services and need a reciprocity letter, please contact Diane Kent at 321-206-5653 or dkent@mail.barry.edu.

Career Services Resource Library

The CSO resource library, located in our office suite, is available to alumni and contains a wide variety of publications and resource materials on career issues and self-assessment, alternative career paths, and many other subjects. We also maintain a number of directories listing attorneys, firms, corporate counsel, and public interest and governmental organizations.

How You Can Assist

The Career Services Office seeks alumni to volunteer as mentors, panelists, presenters, and mock interviewers. If you are interested, simply complete the volunteer information section of the alumni registration on Easelaw to let us know how current students can benefit from your knowledge, skills and talents. If you have any questions about volunteer opportunities, please contact Cinnamon Baker, Director of Career Services, at 321-206-5628 or cbaker@mail.barry.edu.

Alumni Online Community

Barry Law Alumni have their own online community in which to network with fellow alums regarding the client referrals, career paths, the Barry Law Alumni Association, or even just to catch up. Go to: http://lawalumni.barry.edu/home. Alumni can obtain a username and password from Brigitte Debbarh at (321)206-5627 or bdebbarh@mail.barry.edu<mailto:bdebbarh@mail.barry.edu.
