Nov 17, 2007
The Barry Law team of Jonathon Blevins, Randa Maali, and Jaime Nelson for taking home second place best brief honors, and placing 5th in oral arguments at the regional round of the 58th Annual National Moot Court Competition in Atlanta.
The competition is sponsored by the New York City Bar Association and is the oldest and most prestigious moot court competition in the country. With more than 160 teams from 120 law schools competing, it is also one of the largest competitions
The team’s brief placed second, beating out schools such as Emory University, Mercer University, the University of Georgia, the University of South Carolina, Georgia State University, and others. In the preliminary rounds, Jonathon, Randa, and Jaime faced teams from Mercer, Emory, John Marshall, and Florida Coastal. The team performed incredibly well and placed fifth overall in oral arguments based on the cumulative scores during those rounds. The team, coached by Professor Day, worked extremely hard to continue our success at this competition and deserve our appreciation for representing Barry so well.
