Congratulations to the Barry Law School moot court team of Jonathon Blevins, Randa Maali and Jaime Nelson for taking home second place best brief honors and placing fifth in oral arguments at the regional round of the 58th Annual National Moot Court Competition in Atlanta. The comeptition was held Nov. 17, but results were just released.
The competition, sponsored by the New York City Bar Association, is the oldest and most prestigious moot court competition in the country. With more than 160 teams from 120 law schools competing, it is also one of the largest competitions
The team’s brief placed second, beating out schools such as Emory University, Mercer University, the University of Georgia, the University of South Carolina, Georgia State University and others. In the preliminary rounds, Blevins, Maali and Nelson faced teams from Mercer, Emory, John Marshall, and Florida Coastal. The team performed incredibly well and placed fifth overall in oral arguments based on the cumulative scores during those rounds. The team, coached by Barry Law professor Terri Day, worked hard to continue the moot court team's success at this competition.
