Professor Jonassen joined the Barry faculty in August, 2004. Before becoming an attorney, Professor Jonassen earned a B.A. from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in English literature from Cornell University and taught in the Department of English at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. During this time, he published a dozen articles on the English literature of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Professor Jonassen attended the Indiana University, Bloomington, School of Law, where he was active on the moot court board and on the editorial board of the Indiana Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the order of the coif. Professor Jonassen then served as judicial clerk to the Honorable William C. Lee, Chief Judge of the Federal District of Northern Indiana. After spending three years in private practice with the firm of Baker & Daniels in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Professor Jonassen returned to the classroom as the Director of Legal Writing at the new Florida A&M University College of Law.
Professor Jonassen's academic interests include law and literature, legal history, constitutional law, and products liability. |
