Grants and Scholarships

Work hard. Earn a reward. Barry Law awards merit-based scholarships ranging from $5000 to $23,000 to 70-80 percent of the entering class each year.

All Admitted Candidates are Considered

At Barry Law, all admitted candidates are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. Barry Law awarded 73% of the last entering class with a scholarship ranging from $5000 to $23,000 this past year. Typically, Barry Law awards between 70 and 80 percent of the entering class each admissions cycle. The factors considered for these institutional awards are both the LSAT and the undergraduate grade point average. Awards generally start around 149 on the LSAT and go up from there. If you apply, there is no separate application for these awards and the best news of all -- a scholarship offer will be included with the acceptance letter if you are eligible.

Renewal Requirements

Renewing a Barry Law scholarship is very reasonable. With 2.6 to 3.0 as the LGPA renewal requirement (based on the amount of the award), Barry Law scholarships offer generous and reasonable renewal provisions. When weighing the law school options, scholarship renewal requirements are an important consideration.

The scholarship renewal process automatically occurs after Spring term grades are posted. Renewal is based on the student maintaining the minimum cumulative law grade point average as noted in the initial award letter. If the law cumulative GPA is below of the specified requirement of 2.6 to 3.0, the scholarship will be removed.

Unlike most schools which remove scholarships completely if renewal criteria are not met, Barry University School of Law will consider you for an annual scholarship based on your current law GPA. Although not renewable, you continue to be considered each year if you maintain above a 2.5 cumulative law GPA.

Post-Enrollment Awards

The Scholarship Bonus Program rewards students who rank in the top 10% of the class. After the end of the Spring term, each class is ranked by the Registrar's Office. Barry Law offers students in the top ten percent, a scholarship equal to 75% of tuition for as long as top ten percent status is maintained.

Students who achieve competitive grades outside of the top ten percent may be eligible for other post-enrollment scholarships. These awards are based on law grade point average after the fall and spring grades have posted. Students who achieve at least a 2.75 law GPA or higher will be considered for merit-based awards based on available funds.
