Barry Law Moot Court Team Wins 2019 Burton D. Wechsler Competition

Barry Law's Moot Court team won the 2019 Burton D. Wechsler National First Amendment Moot Court Competition this past weekend in Washington D.C.

The team of Eric Sorice and Billie Guertin, co-coached by Andraya Jackson and Professor Terri Day, competed with thirty-plus teams from law schools across the country. In the four advanced rounds, Barry Law defeated Georgetown, UC Hastings, Seton Hall and the University of Connecticut.

The final round was judged by the Honorable Pamela A. Harris of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Honorable Danny Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Honorable Timothy B. Dyk of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  

American University Washington College of Law sponsors the national competition, which is a renowned tournament that has attracted top competitors from across the country for the past twenty-six years.
