Bar Preparation Program

The unique Bar Preparation Program at Barry University School of Law includes semester workshops covering multi-state and Florida specific subjects. All graduating students are strongly encouraged to attend these workshops. Program attendees are offered personal tutoring, counseling, and support provided by the director for all graduates as well as first year students.

A detailed Bar Prep webpage provides bar-related information at the students’ finger tips. All of the Bar Prep lectures are audio taped and are accessible via the internal webpage. In conjunction with the bar prep program, Barry Law offers a course entitled Florida Bar Law Survey. A pass-fail course, Florida Bar Law Survey will cover all six multi-state subjects and many frequently tested state-specific subjects on the Florida bar exam. The course is recommended for students in the last semester of law school.

The Director of Academic Counseling and Bar Preparation, Kaci Kohler Line (kline@mail.barry.edu), administers the bar preparation program. Ms. Line is available for one-on-one tutoring and support to all Barry Alumni.

Not only do the graduates receive counseling from the Bar Prep Director, but they continue to benefit from the Barry Law faculty mentor program during this time. Faculty mentors, who are assigned to each student the first day of law school, continue their valuable mentorship through the challenging bar preparation period thereby creating a strong web of support.
