Program Overview

Delivery

The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership is an open enrollment program. The program has several delivery styles. For example, some courses (e.g., Team Building ) will be offered in the traditional face to face method. Some courses (e.g., Information Technology Administration) will be substantively on-line. Some courses (e.g., Educational Evaluation) will be split 50-50 (face to face and on-line). Additionally, students can participate in the Leadership Series held each year at Barry University for credit. This leadership series is generally five sessions scheduled throughout the academic year and revolves around contemporary issues in education. Nationally recognized speakers are brought to the campus to deliver content.

Other Requirements

Admission (general), credit hours, comprehensive examinations, residency, candidacy, time limitations, and graduation requirements remain identical to the current Ph.D. Additional admission requirements will be the submission of a valid teaching certificate and three years of successful teaching prior to the request for the Educational Leadership Certification from the State.
