The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library subscribes to nearly 150 electronic databases. Most of our databases are available over the Internet from within Barry. Online access to these databases is possible from any networked computer on the main campus or from any off-campus patron who uses remote Access.

ABI/INFORM Global – A premier source of business information for more than 30 years. The database contains content from Wall Street Journal and thousands of journals that help researchers track business conditions, trends, management techniques, corporate strategies, and industry-specific topics worldwide. For full text be sure to check box next to “full text articles only”. From 1971 to present.

Academic Search Premier - Provides full text for more than 3,460 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. This database is updated on a daily basis.

Ageline - Index with abstracts to field of social gerontology, which is the study of aging in psychological, health-related, sociological and economic contexts. Dates covered: 1978 – present

American Chemical Society Publications – Provides online access to 32 journals published the American Chemical Society (ACS). Full text available from 1996 to present.

American National Biography - A fundamental source of historical American biography; It offers portraits of more than 17,400 men and women whose lives have shaped the nation. All figures included in American National Biography died before 1996.

Anatomy TV – World’s most detailed 3D interactive model of human anatomy online

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences – Contains book-length reviews of scientific/technical/medical research topics. Each of the approximately 30 volumes published each year constitutes a sharply focused picture of a field of research at a critical point in its development. Full text from 1997 to present.

Art Online - Provides web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, (34 vols.), The Oxford Companion to Western Art, The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, and The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics; contains over 5,000 searchable and embedded art images, maps, and line drawings displayed in the text of articles, extensive image links, and sophisticated search and navigation tools.

ATLA Religion Database with ATLA Serials - Provides full-text of the entire runs of a core collection of more than fifty significant scholarly periodicals in the field of religion, most of which go back to 1949; provides index and abstracts to literature of wide selection of Christian traditions (including Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Evangelical, and Pentecostal), Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shinto, Taoism, Confucianism, and other religious traditions.

BioOne - Aggregation of 68 full-text high-impact bioscience research journals. Most of BioOne’s titles are published by small societies and non-commercial publishers, and, until now, have been available only in printed form.

Cabells Business Publishing Directories - Professors and graduate students in accounting economics, finance, management and marketing frequently use Cabells Directory to assist them in publishing their manuscripts. Also, administrators and accrediting committees use them to evaluate publication records. Reviewers use the Directory for the large number of journals in each Directory and the useful information included for each journal.

Full text material includes more than 120 journals plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials

ClasePeriodica – Clase indexes documents from 1975 to present published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities; PERIODICA covers journals from 1978 to present specializing in science and technology. There is indexing of many Spanish and Portuguese language theological journals.

College Source - 17,655 college catalogs full-text; includes international colleges and universities.

Communications Abstracts - Produced by the Communication Institute for Online Scholarship (CIOS), this database indexes and abstracts 65 leading journals in the field of communications.

Directory of major domestic and foreign corporations -- includes history, financial data, chief officers, divisions, and investor rankings (formerly known as FISOnline or Moody's). Includes Equity Portraits: a database which provides stock price, volume and other company information. It also includes in-depth industry analysis

Congressional Quarterly Researcher - Explores a single "hot" issue in the news in depth each week. Topics range from social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. There are 44 reports produced each year including four expanded reports.

The Index Theologicus database presently contains more than 250,000 bibliographical references from articles in journals, Festschriften and conference volumes. Industry/Company Information Center (Datamonitor) – provides a concise overview of 10,000 companies (domestic and international), 2,000 industries and 50 country profiles. It also offers 2,500 company SWOT analyses, and is constantly updated with comments on the latest news.

Industry Norms and Key Business Ratios (Dun & Bradstreet) – Provides financial norm and business ratio data developed from actual company income statements and balance sheets. The information is arranged by SIC code, with a short industry title. Both typical and common-size financial statements and 14 key ratios provide important information about industry performance with respect to solvency, efficiency, and profitability.

Research in Ministry Online - Indexes D.Min. projects from reporting schools of theology accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Indexing began in 1981. Author, title, project advisor, institution, and subject access are provided. In addition, an abstract for each project is included when one has been provided by the author.

Value Line – is a comprehensive source of information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks, more than 90 industries, the stock market, and the economy. The main section “Ratings & Reports” presents full-page, individual stock reports and industry reviews. The “Summary & Index” provides a key to locating the latest quarterly and supplementary reports and cites the most recent data on each of the stocks followed. Finally, “Selection & Opinion” is a feature section which gives Value Line’s views on the economy and the stock market, and on stocks of special interest.
