Victor Ravier, a student in the Andreas School of Business and men’s tennis team student-athlete, and Jérôme Freani, an exchange student from Montpellier Business School, have been experiencing great success after launching their first app Place2b.
This free application informs users in real time of local events organized within the Miami area. It allows users to invite friends, make event recommendations or create events in less than 30 seconds for public or private access. Place2b facilitates an instantaneous relationship between the supply and demand for night events. Since its launch in October 2016, more than 1,800 people have already connected.
Ravier initially thought of the application idea a year ago and decided to launch his first startup in January 2016. Within two months, he managed to raise enough funds to develop the project. Freani joined the project in September 2016 for the official launch.
“Various professors at Barry University provided some great feedback and advice on the project, which allowed us to move forward with the initial idea,” said Ravier.
Place2b, based in Miami, is currently in the process of searching for investors or funding to take the popular App to the next level. It was selected “Startup of the Month” in December, and Ravier and Freani were recently featured in an interview with French Morning, a Franco-American newspaper.
