Program Overview

This major requires 50 semester hours in biology including:

  • Biological Foundations
  • Botany
  • Zoology
  • Marine Biology
  • Oceanography
  • Comparative Anatomy
  • Comparative Physiology
  • Internship

Additional credits can be taken from the following courses: Cell Biology, Genetics, Evolution, or Seminar. Students must also fulfill the following biology, chemistry, and physics requirements:

  • BIO 300 - Special Topics as specified in the Undergraduate Catalog
    ( Biology 300 courses do not count toward the major)
  • General Chemistry & Qualitative Analysis
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Ecology
  • 4 semester hours of physics
  • Calculus I
