RISEE: Research Internship for Students in Environmental Ecology
Barry's Research Internship for Students in Environmental Ecology (RISEE) Program is funded by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. The program is designed to provide you with additional academic preparation and research experiences, and the drive needed for undergraduate and graduate study in the environmental field.
Upon entrance into the RISEE program, you will receive funds to attend a summer research workshop. RISEE participants receive funds to cover expenses such as travel, room and board, and a research stipend. Upon completion of their research, students analyze their data and receive funds to travel to scientific conferences to present their results.
During the school year, RISEE students are paired with Barry faculty members to conduct research and further their education. During their sophomore or junior year they are paired up to conduct research at a partner institution according to their interests.
Eligibility
Environmental science and marine biology majors are eligible to apply to the RISEE program if they have a GPA of 3.2 and a minimum SAT score of 1000. |
