7th Annual STEM Symposium

The Barry University community is invited to the 7th Annual S.T.E.M. Research Symposium.

Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2015
Time: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Andreas 111

The research symposium aims to engage the Barry community in learning about and sharing the excitement of ongoing discoveries and research within the S.T.E.M. disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Undergraduate students will present posters related to their past and current research in biology, chemistry, computer science, health science, information technology, mathematics, psychology, and physics.

The event will feature a special presentation by NASA Scientist Russell Romanella.

Schedule of Events:

9 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Poster presentations and judging
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.:  Awards, lunch, and presentation by Russell Romanella

About the presenter:

Lecture Title: “NASA –Exploration For Our Future”

Russell Romanella has more than 30 years of NASA experience. He has held many leadership positions at the Kennedy Space Center during his career including International Space Station and Spacecraft Processing Director, Associate Director for Engineering and Technical, and most recently Director of Safety and Mission Assurance. Romanella joined NASA in 1982 as a co-op student while attending Florida State University where he received his degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. His broad range of experiences include Space Shuttle processing, the International Space Station, and NASA’s Exploration program.
