Barry Grad Nikkia Reveillac Lands Her Dream Job as Head of Research at Twitter

Since graduating from the Andreas School of Business in 2001, Nikkia Reveillac has built an impressive career. But the pinnacle (so far) is stepping into the role of Head of Research at Twitter. She joined the company in October of last year and, by June, she’d been twice promoted to lead its research team. “There are places where, if you work hard and do your best...you get rewarded, and Twitter is the place,” Reveillac told Newsday, a Trinidad and Tobago paper.

As a child, Reveillac assumed she would further her education in the U.S. After earning her degree in International Business from Barry, she moved to New York, taught dance classes, and continued exploring opportunities in the business world. A cover letter she wrote earned her a meeting and then an entry-level position at Colgate-Palmolive. She spent 13 years climbing the ranks, living in the U.S., Switzerland, and Mexico as she worked her way to Director of Insights for the company.

As Reveillac excelled at her career, she continued to nurture her creative, entrepreneurial side. She maintains a blog devoted to self-empowerment in and out of the workplace and once divulged her style and beauty secrets to Refinery 29. She was eager to advance her career in a way that harnessed her natural interests and talents. Spotify, Netflix, Airbnb, and Twitter were all strong options. She chose the latter and has been thriving there ever since, even earning praise on the platform from First Lady Michelle Obama.

Reveillac credits her energy, positivity, and desire to make things better for much of her success. It doesn’t hurt that she’s a self-proclaimed “Passionate People Lover” who tends toward the kind of empathy that’s coveted in an industry built on user experience. “It is very much the lifeblood of every company and if you’re trying to deliver something, whether it’s an article or a piece of clothing or a better experience on a platform, you’ve got to know the users.”
