Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program In Medical Technology
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Technology program is designed for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and are also able to fulfill the following pre-requisites:
|Chemistry (with Biochemistry or Organic)||16|
|Biology (with Microbiology, Cell Biology and Anatomy/Physiology)||16|
|Mathematics or statistics||3|
This 4 + 1 program prepares you for medical technology certification with one year of additional study. Students receive intense training through a combination of lectures, hands-on laboratory experience and clinical internships.
Program Specifics: 46 total credit hours and takes 16 months to complete.
Format: Combination of Lecture and Online Courses
Admission Criteria: Bachelor’s Degree, 2.75 GPA, Pre-requisites

The program includes a five-month internship at clinical affiliate sites in South Florida. Internships are scheduled during the daytime hours in accordance with the schedule of the assigned clinical site. The internship provides practical hands-on experience that prepares the student for a career as a medical technologist.
Preparing You For Ascp Certification
Students successfully completing the certificate requirements are eligible to sit for licensure/certification examination offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT) and the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB). The Post-baccalaureate Certificate is accredited by the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
