Maritza Zea
Class of 2003
At the age of 17, I began my undergraduate
studies in psychology in Bogotá, Columbia. Upon graduation, I did graduate studies in New York , earning an M.S. and an M.A. I went back to Columbia to work and then moved to Florida in 1998. I began my MSW in 2000.
The program at Barry is intensive; it provides social work knowledge and ethical principles to use in practice with groups or individuals in various settings. The faculty is accessible and encourages communication. I had a great learning experience in the field placement, and found campus life to be lively.
My career goal is to serve as a social worker in
the area of immigration and health.
